# Eddie Severn — Trumpeter, Composer, and Educator

## About

Eddie Severn is a British-born trumpeter, jazz composer, and music educator with a performing career spanning more than 45 years. He is notable for his ability to adapt across many musical styles — from lead trumpet in commercial music to innovative solo jazz performance. He has performed with Maria Schneider, Benny Golson, Phil Woods Big Band, Dave Liebman Big Band, The Temptations, Kenny Rogers, The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, The Four Freshmen, and the English Symphony Orchestra.

Eddie has composed for the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, the Scottish Composers Jazz Ensemble, and the Scottish Arts Council. A commission premiered at the Glasgow International Jazz Festival featured renowned trumpeter Kenny Wheeler. His quartet album *Equilibrium* was released on Gyro Music in 2003.

Eddie offers private instruction in:
